Construction process of TPO waterproofing membrane

1. Base Treatment

Before laying the TPO waterproofing membrane,the roof base must be thoroughly cleaned to ensure that the surface is flat, dry,and free of debris.Uneven areas should be repaired and leveled.

2. Pre-laying Membrane

Pre-lay the TPO waterproofing membrane according to the design drawings'requirements to ensure that the membrane's laying direction and joint positions meet the construction specifications.Pay attention to the membrane's overlap width, which should generally not be less than 100mm.

3. Hot Air Welding

Use a hot air welding machine to weld the membrane's joints.Control the temperature and speed during welding to ensure a uniform and secure weld. After welding,inspect the weld to confirm there is no leakage or false welding.

4. Fixing the Membrane

For mechanical fixing construction methods,use special fixings to secure the membrane to the roof base.The spacing and quantity of fixings should meet the design requirements to ensure the membrane's firmness and stability.

5. Detailed Treatment

Enhanced treatment should be applied to the roof's Yin-Yang corners,pipe roots,skylights,and other detailed nodes. Special accessories or additional layers of TPO waterproofing membranes can be used for sealing and waterproofing to ensure the effectiveness of these parts.

6. Quality Acceptance

Upon completion of construction,the TPO waterproofing membrane's laying quality should be thoroughly inspected, including the welds' firmness, the membranes' flatness,and the fixings' stability.If necessary,a watertightness test should be conducted to ensure the waterproof layer's integrity.
