PIR Single-Ply Waterproof Roofing Membrane
Polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation material,compared to traditional polyurethane (PUR),undergoes fundamental molecular structural changes.It has undergone comprehensive upgrades in formulation, process,equipment,and performance, resulting in significant performance improvements.
Based on PIR insulation materials,we have developed an integrated PIR roofing insulation and waterproofing application system:a single-ply waterproof roofing membrane system.This unique system consists of,from bottom to top,a structural layer,a vapor barrier,an insulation layer,a cover layer,and a waterproof layer.The waterproof layer is typically constructed using high-performance,exposed waterproof membrane.

Core Performance Advantages of PIR Insulation Materials
Fire Resistance
In terms of fire safety, PIR achieves Class B1 combustion performance.As a thermoset insulation material,PIR offers far superior fire protection compared to thermoplastic insulation.Fire tests were conducted based on the national standard GB/T 30735-2014.The TPO+PIR structure burned slightly after exposure to fire,but the flames extinguished after a period of time due to the material's excellent flame retardancy.The damaged area of the TPO+PIR structure was very similar to that of the TPO+rockwool structure.However, the TPO+XPS roof structure burned very violently,necessitating forced fire extinguishing mid-experiment to ensure the safety of laboratory equipment and personnel.This further demonstrates that, in practical applications, PIR's fire protection effectiveness far outperforms XPS and is very close to that of inorganic materials.
System Advantages
In industrial plants, the traditional approach is to use a double-layer steel plate sandwiched with rockwool (glass wool) system.The single-layer PIR waterproof membrane roofing system offers significant performance advantages over double-layer steel plate systems.In terms of project cost,PIR single-layer waterproof membrane roofing also has a price competitive advantage.The comprehensive cost of the system is approximately between 200 and 220 yuan/㎡,which is basically the same as the cost of double-layer steel plate metal roofing system and rock wool single-layer roofing system.
